Designer Curtains - Monika Ibi Collection

My personal pattern collection is created through a simple manual process. I take a T-shirt and paint directly on it with acrylic paints. Without a template, without a plan – I work intuitively, letting colors blend into each other, drawing lines, painting over them again, until an exciting overall picture emerges. It is precisely this spontaneous process that I find so appealing. The motifs are created freely and thus retain a raw and authentic quality that is still visible later in the finished fabric.

As a curtain, the motifs have a completely different effect, as they suddenly stand large in the room. They are not just a background, but a deliberate design element. Depending on the fabric, they can be light and translucent or provide more blackout – but in both cases, the artistic character remains paramount.

It is important to me that each design remains personal. From the first brushstroke to the final implementation, all of my own work is present – painted and digitized in Vienna.
